PERFECT SAILING IN CORSICA
Corsica, France but not quite. Corsica has it’s own unique identity.
The fourth largest island in the Mediterranean. It’s most famous native son is Napoleon. Although part of France, Corsica has a charm all it’s own. Natural beauty, stunning backdrops, quaint ports and Bonifacio with it’s marina berths hugging the road right next to the roadside restaurants can be tricky to get in and out of but well worth a visit.
This beautiful island has over 1000 km of coastline and the island boasts many nature reserves. High peaks and stunning sandy beaches along with crystal clear waters make this an enchanting island.
On Corsica’s southern tip you’ll find Bonifacio, The windswept sandstone cliffs with buildings that look like they’ll tip right into the sea lead you into the town marina. Snuggle in the moorings alongside the roadside restaurants. Take the road train up to the main town taking in the sandstone cliffs and astounding views over the sea.
The Lavezzi Islands, One of Corsica’s many nature reserves to the Southeast of Bonifacio, offer a tranquil setting for starlit evenings anchored off these uninhabited group of islands with their big granite boulders and superb sandy beaches.
Being so close to Sardinia means a two country holiday is well within reason and as Euro is the local currency, you won’t need separate boat kitties.
