SAILING TURKEY'S TURQUOISE COAST
The south west coast of Turkey is known as the “Turkish Turquoise Coast” because of the colour of the water. At sea it is actually a deep dark blue, in shallow areas around the coast the turquoise is revealed. Everywhere the sea is crystal clear and swimmable.
There are three main charter areas on the “Turquoise coast”. Bodrum in the north. Marmaris in the middle and Fethiye/Gocek in the south. It is windier in the north, and often windless in the south. Each offers something different, but equally all are ideal for comfortable family sailing.

Marmaris is a huge natural bay. Well known for its bars and discos in the town it also offers fabulous walks in the national park where the marina is located (above). Placed midway between Bodrum and Gocek, and adjacent to Hisaronu Gulf it offers the most choice .
Fethiye & Gocek are 12 miles apart at opposite ends of Fethiye Korfezi sailing area which they share. Gocek is closest to the 12 bays, a beautiful protected area and closest to Dalaman airport. fethiye is a holiday town with a scenic bazaar full or restaurants, spices and Turkish delight.
